What does Akousa check?
Six sounds that most often make Indian English hard to follow: V, W, TH, Z, the extra “i” before S (as in “ischool”) and F. They are the same in American, British and Australian English.
Akousa can’t hear me
Allow the microphone in Settings › Akousa, find a quiet spot, and hold the phone about a hand’s length away. Read at your normal pace.
A result looks wrong
Tap the word to hear yourself next to a clear voice. If you still think Kaanu got it wrong, email us the word and what you heard. It helps us make Akousa more accurate.
Will I lose my accent?
No, and that isn’t the goal. Akousa helps you be clearly understood. Your accent is part of who you are.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes everything kept on your phone. For recordings you chose to share, email us and we will delete them within 30 days. See the privacy policy.
