Your voice stays yours

In short: Akousa checks your recording and then deletes it. We keep a recording only if you tick “Share this recording”. You don’t need an account, and we don’t show ads or sell anything about you.
What we collect
- Your recordings. When you read the paragraph or practise a word, the recording is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, checked, and deleted straight after. We don’t keep it unless you tick “Share this recording”.
- Shared recordings. If you tick “Share this recording”, we keep that recording to measure and improve how accurately Akousa hears each sound. Only the Akousa team listens to it. It is never published, sold or used to train anyone else’s products.
- Your progress. Your 21-day plan, your scores and the day 1 and day 21 recordings used for “hear how far you’ve come” are kept on your phone, not on our server.
- Anonymous counts. We count which steps people reach (for example “finished day 1”), tied only to a random ID made on your phone. It is not linked to your name, email or phone number.
- Your choices in the app, such as the language you grew up speaking and the voice you practise with, to tailor the plan. These stay on your phone.
What we don’t do
- No account, no sign-up, no contacts, no location.
- No advertising and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- We don’t sell or share your data with anyone for their own use.
Services we use
Our server and this website run on Cloudflare and on the Akousa team’s own computers. Payments, when they arrive, are handled by Apple; we never see your card details.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything kept on your phone. To delete recordings you chose to share, email hello@akousa.app and we will remove them within 30 days.
Children
Akousa is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
